In 2001, In the Netherlands same-sex became legal plus they were the first country to make it legal! But 3 years later Massachusetts Became the first US state to legalize same-sex marriage. As well 10 years after that 13 more countries legalized it those countries South Africa, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Canada, and Spain are a few of these countries that made it legal.
Even though same-sex marriage wasn’t legal till the early 2000s same-sex couples were getting married on tv in the 1990s. Like the sitcom “Roseanne” in their eleventh episode season eight in December twelfth, 1995. But “Roseanne” wasn’t the only one to show same-sex marriage just a year after the show known as “Friends” they had a lesbian marriage in the eleventh episode too but in their second season in January eighteen, 1998.
